Administrative Volunteers - Apply Here
Check-Out & COVID-19 Screening
This position is split into two different front desk subcategories:
Check-Out Volunteers sign patients out, schedule patients’ follow-up and new appointments, and complete lab work and referral forms. Volunteers have direct patient contact, and interact with health professionals. It is a great way to gain experience working in a clinical setting.
COVID-19 Screeners are trained volunteers that greet guests and patients as they arrive, screen all clinic entries for COVID-19, and support the front desk in patient check-in and management.
Clinical Support Volunteers - Apply Here
Medical Assistants are responsible for prepping patients to be seen by the provider. Tasks include measuring and recording patient health information. Some form of license is required, and volunteers must have experience with, and be comfortable performing, all tasks. Preference will be given to volunteers who have formal healthcare training (Medical Assistants, EMTs, CNAs, etc.)
Medical Recorders assist health professionals in note taking for patient appointments. Depending on the appointment type and the Medical Professional's preference, Medical Recorders will either record in the exam room during the appointment or will record in the volunteer room after the appointment. Volunteers will interact with professionals and will learn to use medical record keeping software. Additional training is required for this position. Work in another volunteer position at the clinic is expected.
The Clinic is urgently seeking Spanish Interpreters to volunteer weekday shifts: 8am-12pm, 1-4pm, and 6-9pm. Volunteers in the position ensure smooth and effective communication between patients, providers, and staff. Spanish Interpreters at the clinic gain experience working with uninsured, Spanish speaking patients through interpreting between providers and patients during clinical and wellness visits. Interpreters may also work on projects to improve the Spanish Interpreting volunteer program at the Clinic.
