Pre-Employment Clinic From 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month, through a partnership with the University of Rhode Island (URI) and a 2005 grant from the Fred M. Roddy Foundation, we provide free exams and immunizations for patients involved in the pre-employment screening process. Our volunteer nurse practitioners and URI nurse practitioner students check blood pressure, weight, height, medical history, and immunization records. Depending on your general health and your prospective employer’s requirements, we may also refer you to other low- or no-cost facilities for additional lab work or tests. All we ask is that you arrive by noon (space is limited), bring any documentation from your prospective employer with you, and donate what you can for your visit. |

Making ends meet is tough when you're 24 years old and working part-time to help pay for nursing school and living on your own. You're no longer covered by mom and dad's health insurance. You can't afford the pre-employment physical and immunizations you need to become eligible for a full time position in your chosen field. If not for the Free Clinic, you might feel that the odds are against you.
