Like other non-profits in the state, we are fortunate to have the many good friends who support our mission and our existence. Our friends are a mix of private individuals, non-profit and for-profit organizations who believe, like us, that health and wellness are fundamental to quality of life, workplace, and economy. The buck, so to speak, stops here; that is, with each of us being able to find and get the medical attention and care we need to remain productive, contributing members of society—regardless of our present circumstances. Everyone deserves as much. Some of our friends help to ensure this basic premise by giving us the money that helps fund Rhode Island Free Clinic overhead and operations. Some give us in-kind services, like laboratory testing, x-rays, and specialist referrals. Some provide non-medical donations, like food for volunteers. Still others elect to share their expertise and time as a volunteer. And many, in fact, support us in multiple ways. They all know that Rhode Island Free Clinic makes the most of their gifts of money, of time, and of service. In whatever manner our friends support us, we—and the patients we serve—are deeply appreciative of the difference they make.

Ronald Gallo
President and CEO, the Rhode Island Foundation
His Position: Has overseen the establishment of the organization’s strategic grantmaking programs during his 12 year tenure at the Foundation. Advocates for giving which benefits the diverse cultures, interests, and needs of the Rhode Island community.
Their support: Awarded Rhode Island Free Clinic a two-year, $50,000 strategic grant for a much-needed data management project in 2004—a grant which has allowed the Free Clinic to move from an entirely paper-based record keeping system to a computer information system which tracks volunteer and patient information and allows easy and accurate reporting of Clinic data.
